SO originally for day 3 i was going to highlight all my hip-hop fav's in order to not only show the world that electro-hip-hop is actually a "thing", but also to demonstrate my "musick genre listening versatility" thing with the stuff and yeah.
Honestly, i have no clue what i just typed. Its been that sort of day.
And in keeping with random, I accidentally ran into an artist known as
SKRILLEX.
...and with that encounter, the idea of a "hip-hop day" was thrown out the window :S
Dude.
SKRILLEX. this guy. amazing. I MEAN just listen to his versatility:
Skrillex - All I Ask of You (Feat. Penny)
This track is very reminiscent of Deadmau5 or Kaskade, with a hard 4/4 compression beat topped with a moogy secondary melody track :] Nice, peaceful track with nice vocals that one would expect to find in any "posh" club.
Skrillex - Rock N Roll (Will Take You to The Mountain)
Really dug this track, with its hyper-edits and scratch/static beginning, subsequently followed by dirty dub-baselines ^^ very "electro-festival" to me :]
Skrillex - Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites
WOOOOH totally dub-by! like rubadubalicious :D maaaaaaaaaaan.
...AND NOW FOR MY SECOND PORTION - ELECTRO THROUGH THE AGES
For this next track, i'd advice you to throw on your cut-off jean shorts, jean jackets, large oversized late 80's early 90's thick rimmed glasses, and don't shower for a few days. OH, and headbands are a must:
The Boomzers - WTF! (Haezer Remix)
As we move towards the 90's, please continue to keep your hands and feet inside the vehicle at all times :]
Dem Slackers - Swagger (Evil Nine Remix)(Hard)
...And finally, we finish off our journey with some early/mid 2000's hipster-electro-funkdaddy
Captain Pheonix - Pistols and Hearts (The Bloody Beatroots Remix)
And thus ends that bit o dumpage .
I hope you all enjoyed that as much as I did, and I promise next drop WILL be some form of a hiphipshit.
Cross my heart, hope to die. pumpkin pie.
